Dr. Scharfenberger is board-certified in family medicine and has been practicing for over 25 years in the Warwick community.

He received his medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine in Bridgetown, Barbados and completed his internship at the BronxCare Health System, previously known as Bronx Lebanon Hospital Center, in the Bronx, NY.  He performed his family medicine residency at Hackensack Meridian Health, JFK Medical Center in Edison, NJ.  Dr. Scharfenberger is licensed to practice in both New York and New Jersey.

Dr. Scharfenberger is well known and respected by his patients. He has received the "Patient's Choice Award" in Orange County from VITALS.com six times. Dr. Scharfenberger is committed to improving the health of Orange County residents by developing the Warwick Wellness Center, an integrative health care center.

Dr. Scharfenberger is excited to join the Bon Secours Charity Health System.  After much discernment, he felt the Bon Secours Medical Group was in line with his values of providing excellent, personal, and compassionate care to his patients.

He lives in Warwick with his wife Anna, who is also a nurse.

Dr. Scharfenberger specializes in caring for people of all ages, at all stages of life. Rather than focusing on the treatment of one disease or patient population, he is a doctor that people see for their everyday ailments, like cold and flu or respiratory infections, and health screenings.

When necessary, he will provide referrals for conditions that require the expertise of another specialist. He also may also provide physicals, inoculations, prenatal care, treat chronic diseases, like diabetes and asthma, and provide advice on disease prevention.
