My name is Frank Appell, and I am the Medical Librarian for Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center.
The Medical-Staff Library (also known as the Caroline D. Schwartz Medical Library) is a reference and research library funded by the medical staff and hospital administration. Its primary purpose is to provide information and referral services appropriate to the professional, technical, educational, administrative and research needs of the entire medical and hospital staff.
It does this through a variety of services: data base searching, document retrieval (from books and journals), current awareness, Loansome Doc (remote ordering of documents for physicians), in-library Internet accessibility, and patient information for doctors.
Collections and services can be accessed via drop-in (stop-by) visit, phone call, fax or email. Your feedback and suggestions are always welcome.
